The role of pastor is
to be focused chiefly on ministering the gospel of Jesus Christ through the Bible. This task is primarily accomplished by consistent expositional pulpit ministry. It is through the preaching of the Bible that men primarily hear God speak. It is through the powerful and practical application of the Word of God that a church is able to reach out in effective evangelism, discipleship, worship, ministry, and missions. Through the insistent prodding of the Holy Spirit, and the willful obedience of the believer to the truths of the Bible, one matures into the image of Christ. I am committed to teach and preach these truths of the Bible, because I strongly believe that in this way, I help and serve others in the Body more effectively. As God transforms my life by the power of the Holy Spirit, conforming me to the image of His Son through His Word, I want to invest my life in service to my Lord and His people, helping them grow in abundant service to our living Lord.' |
